Which style is right for you?

Every lip blush treatment is tailored to your natural lip shape, skin tone, and the look you're after. During your consultation, we'll find your perfect match.

01

Classic

Even colour across the lips with clear shape and definition.

This style can be tailored from a soft, natural tint to a more noticeable lipstick look depending on your colour choice and preference.

Ideal for clients wanting fuller-looking lips and a more defined border.

02

Ombré

A soft gradient lip with slightly deeper definition at the edge and a lighter centre.

Creates the look of fuller, more defined lips while still healing natural — like a built-in tint rather than lipstick.

Most popular choice for first-time clients.

03

Neutralisation

For lips with darkness, uneven tone, or a purple/ashy undertone.

Before creating a soft pink or natural lip blush, the lip tone first needs to be balanced. Neutralisation gently warms and evens the lips so your final colour heals smooth instead of patchy.

This is a corrective first stage, not the final colour session.

Once healed, we can then move into your desired lip blush shade.

Best for: dark lips • smokers lips • cool-toned lips • uneven healed lip blush

Common Questions

Everything you need to know before booking

These are the questions we hear most often. If you have something specific in mind, your free consultation is the perfect place to ask.

  • Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo designed to enhance the natural colour, shape, and definition of the lips. The result is a soft, tinted finish that improves symmetry and restores vibrancy - without the look of traditional lipstick.

  • Lip tattooing, also known as lip blushing or lip tint tattooing, is generally suitable for most adults, but there are some considerations and contraindications to keep in mind before deciding to undergo this procedure.

Age: Clients must be over the age of 18 to undergo lip tattooing.

Health Status: Ideal candidates are in good general health. Those with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, autoimmune diseases, or blood clotting disorders, should consult with their doctor first.

Skin Condition: Individuals with healthy lip tissue are the best candidates. Those with cold sores or herpes simplex virus must manage these conditions before the procedure as it can trigger outbreaks.

Lifestyle: Smokers may experience slower healing and less optimal results. It's recommended to reduce or quit smoking before and after the procedure.

Pregnancy and Nursing: Not recommended for pregnant or nursing mothers due to the risk of infection and the lack of safety data, the effects of pigments and numbing agents on unborn babies or infants.

  • If you are prone to cold sores, lip tattooing can trigger an outbreak, as the skin is being stimulated. This is completely normal and manageable.

We strongly recommend taking antiviral medication (such as aciclovir or valaciclovir) on the morning of your appointment and for two days following treatment to significantly reduce the risk. Please consult your GP or pharmacist prior to your appointment.

  • As with any cosmetic tattoo, risks can include swelling, sensitivity, infection, or pigment irregularities if aftercare is not followed. Cold sores may be triggered in clients prone to them. These risks are minimised through proper screening, sterile techniques, and professional aftercare guidance.

  • The level of discomfort varies from person to person, but most clients report a mild to moderate sensation. A numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimize discomfort during the procedure.

  • Lip blush typically lasts 1–3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and aftercare. Colour will soften gradually over time, with maintenance touch-ups recommended to keep results fresh.

  • Lip blush can help visually improve minor asymmetries and enhance overall balance. While it cannot change natural anatomy, strategic colour placement can create a more even, harmonious appearance.

  • Colours are fully customised to suit your natural lip tone, undertone, and desired outcome. Options range from soft nudes and pinks to richer rose and berry tones. Your artist will guide you to ensure a natural, flattering result

  • Keep lips well hydrated in the weeks leading up to your appointment. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours prior to treatment.

If you are prone to cold sores, antiviral medication is strongly recommended. This should be taken the morning of your appointment and continued for two days after treatment to reduce the risk of an outbreak.

  • Lip blush healing occurs in stages and typically takes 4–6 weeks for the colour to fully settle.

    Immediately after treatment:

Lips will appear bold, bright, and more intense than the final result. Swelling and tenderness are normal in the first 24–48 hours.

    Days 3–5:

Lips will begin to flake or peel lightly as the surface skin renews. During this stage, colour may appear patchy or uneven — this is expected.

    Days 7–14:

Once peeling is complete, lips may look much lighter or faded. This is part of the “ghosting” phase while pigment resurfaces beneath the skin.

    Weeks 4–6:

The colour gradually returns and stabilises, revealing a soft, natural tint. At this point, lips are considered healed and ready for assessment or a touch-up if required.

Proper aftercare is essential for best results and longevity, and full aftercare instructions are provided at your appointment.

  • The lip tattoo Perth cost can vary depending on the studio and the specific treatment required, but generally, it ranges from $500 to $1,000, including the follow-up touch-up.
